Library 'frustrating,' boycott needed

Editor:

I would like to address a topic that affects all of the students here at the University of Arizona. The topic to which I am referring is that of the U of A Main Library. Let me start out by saying that I am not a big fan of the library. In fact, I think it is absolutely the worst library in the universe. Before all of the librarian majors get all upset, let me explain. There are so many things wrong with that library, I am not sure where I should start. Well, let me start with SABIO. I am sure that everyone is familiar with how helpful SABIO can be. I know that every time I wait in line for a half hour to get on to a terminal that SABIO will always tell me that the books I need are on the shelf. It is never true though. If you go to find the book that you need, it is never there. I sometimes think that the librarians arbitrarily take books off the shelves just so they can laugh at us when we wander around like zombies looking for a book. Books never being on the shelves is not the only problem with this library. I think whoever designed that place must have never seen that film on the Dewey Decimal System in grade school. Why can't they just put them in the right order instead of having the A's on the second floor and then having the B's on the fifth floor? I can honestly say that the U of A Main Library is the most frustrating library I have ever tried to use. I now know why we hear so many stories about people masturbating in the library; they get so frustrated with not finding the books they need and walking up and down the stairs, that is the only way they can release some tension before beginning their quest for the book that the librarians are probably hiding in the back somewhere. This is just how I feel about the library, but I know that there are others who feel the same way. I encourage those people to boycott the U of A Main Library like me.
