Ongoing Events

The art of Tracy Skinner and Deb Fisher will be exhibited in "The Other Side" in the Art Department Student Gallery. This exhibit will be held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sharon Forsmo's works on paper will be exhibited in the Arizona Gallery of the Memorial Student Union from Aug. 1 to Aug. 15, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mixed media photographs by Thomas Strich will be exhibited in "Concerning Landscapes" in the Union Gallery of the Memorial Student Union. It will be held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Works by Catherine Tuttle will be exhibited in "Domestic Compositions" in the Rotunda Gallery of the Memorial Student Union. It will be held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 16, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

"George Arntz and Victoria Looper-Horne: Under Influence" will be exhibited in the UA Museum of Art from Aug. 1 to Sept. 8, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

"Mexican Tableaux: Photographs from the Aaron Siskind and Max Yavno Archives" will be exhibited at the Center for Creative Photography. This exhibit will be held from Aug. 1 to Sept. 15, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

The last day of second summer session classes.

The SABIO/Internet/CCIT Summer Workshops continue with a session on the creation of home pages. They are held in the Science and Engineering Library, Room 311, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Psychiatry Brown Bag Lecture Series presents Mario Cruz, deputy medical director for COPE Behavioral Services, discussing "Managed Care and Mental Health: Pros and Cons." It will be held at the Community Partnership of Southern Arizona, 4575 E. Broadw ay Blvd., from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Menopause Education Seminars continue with the University Physicians presenting Ruth Reiter, OB/GYN nurse practitioner, as moderator. It will be held at the University Medical Center's eighth-floor OB/GYN Medical Office Lobby, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., f rom 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Registration is preferred.

The Arizona Historical Society's Summer 1996 Arizona Story Lecture Series continues with Felipe Molina discussing "Tucson's Yoeme Settlements." The event will be held at the Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second Street, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission for the lecture is $5 per lecture, $30 for the series ($27 for AHS members).

Thursday, August 8

The Office of Student Financial Aid holds a candidate forum for campus interviews for the position of assistant director of minority outreach vacancy. Candidate Nura Dualeh will be presenting from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 282 of the Memorial Student Union .

Friday, August 9

Neurology and Neurosurgery Grand Rounds presents Robert S. Slover, research director at Helen Hayes Hospital, speaking on "The Role of Hypocampus in Epilepsy." It will be held at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, Room 5403, at 8 p.m.

Tuesday, August 13

Emergency Medicine Grand Rounds presents Joseph Miller discussing ophthalmology. It will be held at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, Room 5403, at 9 a.m.

The "Beat the Peak" Conservation Lecture Series presents Katherine Jacobs, director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources, speaking on "Water Resources Overview," at the Arizona Health Sciences Center's DuVal Auditorium at 7 p.m.
