HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Keyshawn Johnson, the No. 1 NFL draft pick, signed with the New York Jets, ending a 24-day holdout.

The Jets announced the deal yesterday, but did not disclose details pending an evening news conference.

Johnson, who played at University of Southern California, was considered key to the Jets' rebuilding effort, giving them an instant receiving threat.

However, Alex Van Dyke, the team's second-round pick, has been impressive, and the Jets also have added free agents Jeff Graham, Rico Smith and Webster Slaughter.

They also extended the contract of last year's free-agent rookie, Wayne Chrebet, who led all wide receivers with 66 catches.
