A resident of Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., reported receiving a harassing message on her answering machine early Monday morning.

The resident told police between midnight and 1 a.m., someone called and said, "(Name withheld), I know where you live. I'm going to fuck the shit out of you. You bitch, I am going to rape you, ha, ha, ha."

The resident could not identify the caller but said she would press charges if the caller's identity is found.


Someone called the University of Arizona Police Department Wednesday morning and yelled "You guys suck," three times before hanging up, a police report said.

The call was received at 4:13 a.m. The identity of the caller was unknown.


About $800 in computer equipment was taken from a room in the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., sometime since Dec. 13.

An employee told police she locked the door of a carrel containing the equipment at noon Dec. 13, when she left for the break. When she checked on the equipment Wednesday at 2:50 p.m., it was gone. However, the carrel was still locked and there were no signs of forced entry.

The carrel was previously assigned to another employee who may have not returned his key.


A pair of sunglasses was reportedly stolen from a backpack in the ASUA bookstore sometime Monday.

On Wednesday, a student told police she'd left her backpack on a chair near the entrance to the store at about 11 a.m. Monday. When she returned to the area at 11:30 a.m., the bag was knocked over and the brown framed, gold trimmed sunglasses were missing. They are valued at $120.


A women's Murray 15-speed mountain bike was reported stolen from outside Steward Observatory, 933 N. Cherry Ave., Wednesday.

A student reported locking the bicycle to a post with a chain and lock at 5 p.m. Sunday. When she returned at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the bike, chain and lock were gone. They are valued at $115.


A man watching the men's basketball game against UCLA Saturday reported losing his $1,500 Rolex watch at McKale Center, 1721 E. Enke Dr.

The man said he was taking off his sweater in section 16 at about 3:10 p.m. when he heard glass breaking. He checked his eyeglasses, but they were undamaged. He then left the arena and discovered the watch missing.
