Ad quantities 'disgusting'

Editor:

I am angered by the mass quantities of advertisements included in every purchase made at the ASUA Bookstore. It is wrong enough that credit card companies are permitted to solicit their unconditional credit and assured debt everywhere on campus, most tim es luring unsuspecting freshman with a free T-shirt or candy bar. The fact that an advertisement was included in every single one of my books which I was required to buy for this semester was disgusting. What disgusted me even further was that a magazine subscription advertisement was bound into a five dollar notebook! I would appreciate knowing what the university receives to include the advertisements and who are the people being paid to stuff them into the books. I only hope that if any money is made, it goes toward defraying the costs of books and supplies to students.
