A Tucson man reported potatoes were thrown at his house early Thursday morning from the roof of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house, 638 E. University Blvd.

The man said he was up at about 1:19 a.m. when he heard objects being thrown near his home in the 700 block of East University Boulevard.

The man told police that when he went outside to investigate, he found potato pieces on his porch and in his yard. He also said that when he went back inside, he heard the noise again, and looked to see men on the rooftop deck of the fraternity house, police reports stated.

The man told police he did not want to press charges unless it happened again.

Police went on the roof of the house and found pieces of potatoes on the deck and in a plastic bucket, police reports stated.

Police notified a resident of the house of what the man had said. Officers also told the resident police would notify Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol, reports stated.

Police told the resident to dispose of the bucket of potatoes properly.


A female UA employee reported a painting missing Thursday from the Union Club in the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd.

The employee told university police she last saw the painting, 13 feet by 16 feet, titled "Freeman Road" Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m. She noticed the painting missing Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.

The employee told police the painting was in the Union Club as part of an exhibit. It was valued at $150.


A male UA employee reported a light cart with two quartz lights missing Wednesday from McKale Center, 1721 E. Enke Drive.

The employee told university police he last saw the cart around Feb. 5.

The employee also said the room in which the light cart is kept is unlocked during the day but locked at night. He told police that all custodians have a key to the room.

The light cart and lights was valued at $400.


A UA male employee reported a Zone 1 parking permit missing Wednesday from his 1990 Geo Prizm parked in Lot 2030, at the northwest corner of North Campbell Avenue and East Helen Street.

The employee told university police he parked and locked his car Monday at 9:30 a.m. When he returned at about 5 p.m., the permit was gone.

The employee said he left his windows open "just a little" while the car was parked.

The value of the permit was unknown.


A female student reported a compact disc player missing Thursday from her 1993 Honda Civic in Lot 5072 behind Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St.

The student told university police she parked her car Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. When she returned Thursday at 9:40 p.m., the stereo housing in the car's dashboard was damaged and the CD player and a CD were missing.

The CD player was valued at $220 and the CD at $15. The value of the damage was unknown.


A female UA employee reported a cellular phone battery charger adapter for her car missing Wednesday from Lot 4057 near the intersection of East First Street and North Campbell Avenue.

The employee told university police she parked and locked her 1991 Dodge Spirit at 7 a.m. When she returned at 6:15 p.m., her driver's side front door was unlocked, papers from the glove compartment were on the floor and the adapter was gone.

The adapter was valued at $5.


A male student reported items missing from his 1995 Jeep Thursday parked in Lot 8106 behind the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St.

The student told university police he parked his Jeep at 11 a.m. When he returned at 6 p.m., he found a horizontal cut in the plastic rear window of his soft top and a leather jacket, a kickboard, hand paddles, swim fins, a black swimsuit and swimming goggles were missing.

The damaged to the vehicle was valued at $100 and the missing items had a total value of $410.
