Bookstore looks for reasons to attend UA

Those reasons will be printed on a T-shirt to be sold in the bookstore. The 10 students who participate in the event will receive a free T-shirt.

Melissa Vaughn, marketing coordinator for the bookstore, said, "It is important to have student input on why the UA is a great university to attend rather than the opinion of some advertising executive."

Vaughn said she and the bookstore staff thought of soliciting student input after running out of T-shirts stating the 10 best reasons for attending the UA that were designed by a non-UA provider.

"About 100 students have submitted a response," Vaughn said.

"We were hoping for a few more responses, but this is about what we expected."

The contest ends Saturday. The new red and blue T-shirts will appear in the bookstore in April.

Entry forms are available at the bookstore, Wildcat Gifts Extra and McKale Sports Stop.

The T-shirts will be sold for $14.95, Vaughn said.
