What's Going on...

Tonight:

Dr. Tom Lindell, UA professor of bio-ethics, is going to be lecturing on today's hot science issue, "The ethics of cloning." It's happening at the Campus Christian Center (715 N. Park Ave.), but we understand that it's going to be a secular discussion. 623-7576 is the number to call for more information and it starts at 6:30 p.m.

Mad Scientists, let the world feel your wrath! Paul Kunce, the program coordinator for the B.F. Goodrich Collegiate Inventors Program, appreciates your twisted genius. In fact, he's willing to pay you up to $7,500 for it. He'll be at the new Aerospace Mechanical Engineering building today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Paul can be reached at (330) 849-6887 if you need more details.

Friday:

This is your last chance to catch Microcosmos on the big screen. Sure, it's a documentary about insects, but the New York Times called it "a breathtaking reminder that Mother Nature remains the greatest special effects wizard of all."... and who are we to disagree with The Times? Showtimes are 7:30 and 9:00 p.m.

Saturday:

Last year The Big Boys Toys Show had cars, beer, chew, bad music, and Playboy's Miss January. This year... who knows? It's all happening Friday to Sunday at the T.C.C. and if you're really interested, call 791-4101 for more details.

The ragin' Cajun Dance Party takes place at the Rialto on Saturday night. Fil‚ provides the music at 9:00 p.m. and Cajun dance lessons happen at 8:00. The Rialto, now an all ages club, is charging $10.00 at the door or $8.00 if you buy your tickets in advance.

Sunday:

They're still around? Yup, the infamous Suicidal Tendencies is playing The Cage at 8:00 p.m. Ever wonder why Chronic Future is getting so many high profile opening gigs? One of these kids' parents is apparently some kind of big shot at Evening Star, the show's producers. Explains a lot, eh? Tickets are $10.00 in advance or $12.00 day of show.

Across town at Club Congress, The Hanson Brothers bring their unique style of "puck rock" to the small stage. Bubba Grubbz opens and admission is $3.00.

Direct from a sell-out performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, Buglisi/Foreman Dance will be in cornert at Centennial Hall to kick off the American College Dance Festival. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $7.00 and $10.00. Details from 621-3341.
