While it was a relief to see someone refute the Wildcat's ridiculous, bombastic diatribe against Iraq ("Power Trip," Sept. 3), there are some flaws in Asst. Professor Taylor's diagnosis of the U.S. government's psychosis regarding the Middle East. He does an admirable job pointing out the hypocritical policy concerning the Kurds, mentioning that Turkey has engaged programs against them with full United States backing. He further illustrates the government's criminal tendencies with the example of the fascist Suharto regime.
There are many other second-rate gangster regimes the U.S. government sponsors. It is true enough that the government has engaged in this current act of terrorism to get Clinton re-elected. The petroleum trust does have some interest in the region. All these phenomena are mere symptoms of, or secondary to, a much more grave disorder, Zionism. How ironic that Taylor should neglect to mention REALLY first-rate butchers, subverters and terrorists like the theocrat gangsters of Occupied Palestine!
It is a fact that the government of "Israel" has long considered President Hussein's secular government to be a dire threat to them. Imagine Benjamin 'Netanyahoo' flinging himself down on the floor and chewing the carpet in psychotic outbursts of hate every time President Hussein is mentioned!
"Netanyahu characterized the Israeli war on the Palestinians and Lebanese as a war on 'fanatic Islamic perverts.' Netanyahu demanded that the United States immediately isolate and destroy the nations of Iraq and Iran forever to secure the Israeli border, and demanded that the United States be prepared to wage war in the region to guarantee the Israeli monopoly of nuclear arms in the region" ("Netanyahu vows he will never let Jerusalem be split; PM Netanyahu addresses Congress, with VP Al Gore in the background," Seattle Times, July 10, 1996, pg A3). Needless to say, no ruler of any other country on this planet would vomit such filth before this country's Congress or be allowed to do so.
It isn't the "Big Oil," tobacco or gun lobbies which are the largest on Capitol Hill; it is the American Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC). This sinister gang commands around 300 lesser PAC's as front organizations for them. Clinton's career in national politics began in 1989 when he stated before them that ALL U.S. foreign policy should be subordinate to Israel's. They are blatantly Clinton's masters, to such a degree that he had to report to them on April 28 to chortle over the 500,000 Lebanese civilians made homeless by the Israeli terror campaign that spring.
It was during this campaign that the Israeli army deliberately butchered 102 Lebanese civilians inside the UNIFIL Qana refugee camp. Two of the victims were American citizens - Lebanese-American children under the age of 10. No Tomahawk missiles were fired at Israel for this outrage. Clinton's response? "The Clinton administration criticized the U.N. report that concluded that the Israeli attack on the Qana UNIFIL camp, where more than 100 refugees died, was 'Monday Morning Quarterbacking.'" (Prime News, CNN, May 8).
Clinton indeed wants to be "re-elected"...by AIPAC. Until this malignant tumor is removed from our country's nerve center, America's prognosis is criminal insanity.
