A man from Pearce, Ariz. who had been feared missing after the UA football game Aug. 30, was reported found Wednesday.

The man had left Arizona to see a friend in Pennsylvania, his mother's husband told university police.

Police recommended the case be closed.


A mob attacked a dumpster Thursday at 12:32 a.m. outside Babcock Inn, 1717 E. Speedway Blvd.

Witnesses told police that pledges from the "Fiji frat" were trying to fit themselves into the dumpster.

Police found the mob in the Warren Avenue tunnel. Members of the group told police they were performing a fraternity stunt.

No citations were issued.


An angry student allegedly kicked out a window Thursday at about 12:30 p.m. in Modern Languages, 1423 E. University Blvd.

A witness sitting in the third floor hallway told police the student, Michael G. Duncan, 21, of the 300 block of North Cherry Avenue, exited a classroom, yelled "shit," kicked the window out, and ran away.

Two witnesses identified Duncan as he walked by police officers.

Duncan admitted to officers he had kicked the window, and said he was upset about a personal problem. He told police, "I guess I got a little mad," police reports stated.

Duncan was arrested on criminal damage charges, but not cited. Instead, he was referred to the Dean of Students diversion program.


Two cars parked adjacent to one another collided Wednesday in the UA lot at East Second Street and North Highland Avenue.

The driver of a 1994 Mazda backed her car into a 1970 Dodge, which had already pulled out of its parking space across the aisle.

The Dodge received a 7-inch dent on the rear passenger side and the passenger side taillight was broken.

No citations were issued.


A bicycle was stolen Thursday at 12:15 a.m. from outside the Delta Delta Delta sorority house, 1541 E. Second St.

Two Delta Delta Delta residents saw a male take a bicycle from the south side of the building and ride away to the west.

The owner and type of bicycle were unknown. The case remains open.

Another bicycle was stolen Thursday outside Kappa Alpha fraternity, 906 N. First Ave.

A male student told university police he locked his bicycle to a fence post on the building's east side with a cable lock at 1 a.m. He returned at 5 p.m. to find the lock cut and lying on the ground.

The Giant ATX hybrid bicycle was valued at $600, and the lock at $20.

The lock was placed into evidence.


University police were called to Navajo-Pinal-Sierra Residence Hall, 1557 E. Sixth St., when a resident assistant reported that he smelled marijuana.

When police arrived, the resident assistant said he had neither smelled nor seen any marijuana, but that a female student was burning incense in her room with the window open.

Police searched the student's room and found no evidence of marijuana use.

The student told police she was using the incense because some spoiled milk had spilled on the carpet.


A magazine salesperson was warned for trespassing Wednesday at 3:50 p.m. at Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave.

The salesperson was told she needed permission from the Dean of Students to sell items on campus.

The salesperson agreed to leave campus and was issued a warning for trespassing.


A videotape was turned in Thursday to university police.

The CATS Senior Highlight Video showed no indications of ownership and its value was unknown.

It was placed into property.
