U of A - Today

  • The UA softball team plays Arizona State University at 6 p.m. at the Hillenbrand Stadium.

  • The National Association of Music Merchants and the UA School of Music and Dance co-sponsor "The Business of Music" seminar from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Music building, Room 146. Admission is free and the seminar is open to the public.

  • The Arizona Poetry Center presents Al Young, poet, novelist, editor, screenwriter and musician, to read his array of literary works in the Modern Languages Auditorium at 8 p.m.

  • The American Red Cross will be at Gila Residence Hall collecting blood donations from 6 until 8 p.m.

  • Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering presents Sanjiva Lele, of Stanford University, to speak on "Compressibility Effects in Free Shear Layers," in the new AME Building Room S202 at 4 p.m. Refreshments served at 3:20 in Room N722.

  • The Department of Physics presents Norges Tekniskt, of Naturvitenskaplige Universitet in Trondhiem, Norway, to speak on "Relativistic Quantum Mechanics of Single Photons," in the Physics and Atmospheric Science building Room 201 at 4 p.m. Refreshments are served at 3:45 in Room 218.

  • The Women's Resource Center presents Body Talk, a positive body imaging discussion group, in the Women's Resource Center, Room 202 of the Memorial Student Union at 6 p.m.

  • The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop on how to use Pine e-mail in CCIT, Room 311 from 10 until 11:30 a.m.
