Police warned both men for disorderly conduct.

A Tucson man was arrested on two charges after university police stopped his vehicle Sunday near the East Sixth Street and North Park Avenue.

Police were driving westbound on Sixth Street approaching Park Avenue when they saw a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass, going northbound, disregard a traffic control device about 12:13 a.m., according to police reports.

Police stopped the car at the intersection of East Fourth Street and Park Avenue.

The driver told police he did not have any identification on him and identified himself as "Anthony Jones."

As police spoke with the driver outside the car, they smelled an odor of burnt marijuana coming from his clothes, police reports stated. When police asked the driver if he had any marijuana in the car, the driver said, "Just the joint in the door," reports stated.

Police reports stated that in the driver's side door handle there was a handrolled cigarette containing a "green leafy substance."

The driver was then arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Police reports stated the driver told police he was visiting from Oregon. Reports stated that because he was visiting Tucson and police could not verify his identification, police transported the driver to Pima County Jail.

While at the jail, the driver told police he lied about his name and was really Anthony G. Whiteside, 23, of the 100 block of West Valencia Road.

Whiteside was also cited on a charge of false information to law enforcement. He was booked into Pima County Jail.

The "green leafy substance" was sent to the Arizona Department of Public Safety for analysis.
