The Honors Center and the School of Music and Dance present a concert by student guitarists at the Slonaker House, 1025 E. Second St., from noon to 1 p.m.

The Summerfest '97 Distinguished Lecturer/Multicultural Series presents "Reading and Writing Toward 2000," from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Education building's Kiva Auditorium.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Dante's Peak" at 7:30 and 9:35 p.m. Tickets are $2.50

Thursday

The Summerfest '97 Distinguished Lecturer/Multicultural Series presents "A Western Apache Landscape and the Oldest Main in Show Low: Senses of Place in Arizona," by Keith Basso, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Education building's Kiva Auditorium, and "The Rad icalism of Tradition: Academic Freedom in a Managerial Age," by T.J. Jackson Lears, at 7 p.m. in the Art Building, Room 312.

The Arizona Repertory Theatre presents a preview of "Arsenic and Old Lace," by Joseph Kesserling, at 7:30 p.m. in the Laboratory Theatre in the Drama West building. Tickets for the preview are $7.

As part of Summerfest '97, independent film maker Austin Allen presents Video PARK&REC: "Claiming Open Spaces," at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Terms of Endearment" tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 and 9:50 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.

Friday

The Dance department will sponsor a jewelry sale on the UA Mall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Union Gallery will hold a reception for Phoenix artists, Lawrence Gawel and Dana Fritz, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the gallery on the first floor of the Memorial Student Union.

The Arizona Repertory Theatre presents "Arsenic and Old Lace," by Joseph Kesserling, tonight at 7:30 p.m. The show will also run Tomorrow at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the general public are $14, $12 for UA employees and sen iors and $9 for students. Contact the UA Fine Arts Box Office (621-1162) for tickets and other show times.

Centennial Hall presents composer and TV personality John Tesh in concert at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $23 and $28. Prices increase by $2.50 if ticket is purchased the day of the show.

Monday

Gallagher Theatre presents "The Professional" tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 and 9:40 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.
