The Catholic Mission of San Xavier del Bac was built in 1783 and is a landmark of social and religious significance in Arizona. The mission is located a half hour from Tucson on I-19, and still offers daily mass. The mission gives tours including its his tory from the time of first priest, Father Eusebio Francisco Kino, to the present day.

Today is the last day to register for credit for second session. For more information call 626-8200.

The Employee Career Development Center presents a resume writing class from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Employee Career Development Center, 1227 N. Santa Rita Ave. The class will be offered again July 24.

Stanley Chodorow, a candidate for president of the University of Arizona, will meet students from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; faculty from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m.; staff from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and the public from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meetings will be held in the Studen t Union except for the public session which will be in the Arizona Stadium Club.

The Honors Center and the School of Music and Dance present a concert by student guitarists at the Slonaker House, 1025 E. Second St., from noon to 1 p.m.

Campus Health Services presents a yoga class from 5 to 6:15 p.m. in the Campus Health Services building Rooms A and B (basement level). Students are encouraged to wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel. The cost for the class is $15. For more information call 621-3334.

Summerfest '97 Distinguished Lecturer/Multicultural Series presents "Reading and Writing Toward 2000" at 7 p.m. in the Modern Languages auditorium. Today's participant will be Patricia Preciado Martin.

The Arizona Historical Society presents "Our Legacy: Reflections of Arizona Leaders" where elected officials will answer the question "What will be our legacy to future generations?" Today's speaker will be former Nogales Mayor Louis Valdez. The speech wi ll take place at the Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St., from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 for the public, and $3 for students.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Sling Blade" at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.

Thursday

The Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St., presents an exhibit titled "Angles of Restoration: San Xavier del Bac." The exhibit commemorates the 200th anniversary of the San Xavier del Bac mission and the efforts made to restore the mission. The ex hibit will show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Summerfest '97 - Videotensions presents "VideoLOCAL," a showcase of local video makers at 7:30 p.m. in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building's auditorium. A closing reception for Videotensions '97 will follow the screening.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Strictly Ballroom" today and tomorrow at 7:30 and 9:20 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.

Friday

Summerfest '97 Distinguished Lecturer/Multicultural Series presents "Latin American Vocal Music: Repertoire and Performance Practice" by Pablo Zinger at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Complex Holsclaw Hall.

Saturday

The Drunken Word Poets present "The Cheap Truth Highball Hour" at 8 p.m. at Historic Club Congress, 311 E. Congress. Tucson's original spoken word show features such UA legends as Steph Murray, Carl Marcum, Erin Whitfield and Tom Collins. Admission is fre e.

Monday

Gallagher Theatre presents "The Shawshank Redemption" today and tomorrow at 7:30 and 10:10 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.
