Artist Maria Virginia Rascon created this alter on exhibit in the Arizona Historical Society in the for "El Dia de los Muertos" ( Day of the Dead) in honor of her grandmother. The Day of the Dead, which begins tomorrow, originated with the indigenous people of Central America celebrating the transition from this world into the peace found in death.
