  • Career Services is offering a free workshop on resume writing from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Students are required to check in at the Career Services reception desk in the lower level of Old Main.

    The workshop discusses resume formats and how to make work experiences stand out. Writing a cover sheet and including references will also be discussed.

  • Leila Fawaz, current president, and Farbab Kazemi, past president of the Middle East Studies Association present a colloquium entitled "Challenges in the Middle East Studies Today," in the Memorial Student Union Room 281 from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

  • The UA Rugby team plays San Diego State's junior varsity team at 2:30 p.m. and the varsity team at 4 p.m. Sunday they play the University of San Diego's varsity team at 12:30 p.m. and the junior varsity team at 2 p.m. All competitions take place at Estevan Park, 1000 N. Main.

  • The UA Men's Tennis team plays Oregon State University at 1:30 p.m. at the Robson Tennis Center.

  • The Diversity Action Council presents "Drums Across Cultures," featuring American Rhythms: Tying it All Together on the UA Mall from noon until 1 p.m. UA presents features SamulNori, Korean Drummers and Dancers, at Centennial Hall at 8 p.m.

  • The UA Swimming and Diving team competes against Loyola Marymount University tomorrow at 1 p.m. Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.

  • The UA baseball team plays Cal State Fullerton today at 2:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 p.m. both at Frank Sancet Field. Sunday the baseball teams plays an All-pro Alumni Game at 1 p.m.

  • The Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "looking for richard" a film by Al Pacino at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. "The Lost Boys" is playing at midnight. Tomorrow and Sunday "Space Jam" is playing at 7:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. Admission is $2.50 for all features.

Fact of the Day

Thirteen years ago today Navy Capt. Bruce McCandless, followed by Army Lt. Col. Robert Stewart, became the first humans to fly free of a spacecraft.
