Quotes taken from Tuesday's press conference in McKale Center

Coach Olson
On the team's progress
 - "We sort of have to pinch ourselves to recognize that we're not dreaming and that this has really happened. I guess it's more enjoyable when it's not expected."

On the team's health
 - "We seem to be in good health. Always a little flu or cold, but nothing to stand in the way of anybody being ready to play."

On the first game vs. UNC
 - "I remember while the team was warming up, Coach Johnson said something about "How are you feeling about his game?" I said "I am scared to death." How do you know how a kid like Mike Bibby in his first ever Div. I game is going to react? The same thing for Bramlett and Donnell Harris with their inexperience. It was not a real comfortable feeling in the locker room at that point."

On the Wildcats' success
 - "Not a lot of people thought the 1994 team was going to be very successful. How do you depend on 60% of your scoring from guards and expect to go through some of the teams we were facing. We had some tough teams that year: Virginia had won the ACC and was one of the hottest teams in the Tourn., Missouri had become the only team to go through the Big-8 season undefeated and Louisville had been sent out here with the idea that they would represent the West. Has to be a toughness on the court that will overcome those kinds of things. That year it was Stoudamire and Reeves. This year I think the leader is Miles Simon."

Beating Kansas
 - "Beating Kansas was wonderful, but was it unexpected? Absolutely not. They felt all along that they could do it. They never wavered from that. They honestly believed that they could do it and that's the reason they got it done."

Thoughts on strategy
 - "Very similar system with Kansas and North Carolina, and from our end of it that's helpful in terms of preparation. Their fast break theories and post work are pretty similar. (On preparation)- The biggest problem that you face is all of the hoopla surrounding it and trying to protect the players from that. And after the first one, there's not a lot you can change or should change."

Mike Bibby

Limelight?
 - "I really don't see any spotlight on me, I just go out there and play like I'm supposed to. I am not going out there trying to impress anybody, I'm just playing for my team and myself."

Team's personality
 - "The biggest thing is for us to come out and get down and dirty right from the start. We have our best games when we play like that."

Road games
 - "I think the close games on the road let us know that we always had the ability, and now we are showing it."

Michael Dickerson

On UNC
 - "It's going to be hard to beat those guys because they will be shooting for us after what we did earlier to them."
A.J. Bramlett

Strategy
 - "We are going to have to use our quickness to negate their size. Serge poses a tough matchup for us a lot like MacCulloch did, so we will have to initiate a game plan that works a lot like that game we had down here against Washington."
