A light weekend of rugby does not mean that it won't be interesting.

The UA Rugby team welcomes Buckinghamshire College of England onto the American soil of Estevan Park today at 4 p.m. for an exhibition match.

Buckinghamshire is located in High Wycombe, England, which is just outside of London. The team is on a tour which includes stops not only in Arizona but also in Nevada and California. They beat Nevada 40-0 in the first game of their tour.

"This should be a great exchange for our players on both sides of the Atlantic," Arizona head coach Dave Sitton said. "Our players will billet their players and have an opportunity to meet them and exchange tidbits about both cultures."

The Wildcats are using this opportunity to rest Chris Kron, Alan Lakomskis and possibly Paul Gause to give their emerging younger players an opportunity to play.

"I am excited to find out what they are all about," Sitton said.

This is the first time these two schools have faced each other. But playing foreign teams is nothing knew to UA, who hosted New Zealand's Otago University in Jan.

After the game, UA will set its sights on the upcoming Memorial Invitational, which it will host on April 4 and 5.

Briefly

The UA volleyball team, coming out of its best-ever Pacific 10 Conference mark of 12-6, is hosting a spring tournament Saturday at the Campus Recreation Center's North Gym.

Eight schools are participating in the event, which begins at 9 a.m. and will end around 6 p.m. Teams include Arizona State, Oregon State, Northern Arizona, New Mexico State, Pittsburgh and Regis. There will also be an alumni team comprised of former Wildcats and Sun Devils.

Arizona began individual practice in January and started 6 a.m. team workouts the week before spring break.
