Women's lacrosse team set for season finale

Arizona women's lacrosse coach Josh Dreiband is not about to let his team take it easy this weekend.

Sure, the game against UCLA doesn't really matter all that much as Arizona (8-0) has already clinched the league title and a first round bye in the playoffs, but Dreiband doesn't care.

"Definitely not," he said when asked if he'd let the Wildcats relax. "I'll have them prepared, you can bet on it."

Arizona and UCLA (1-3) will match up Saturday at Wildcat Field at 11 a.m.

The game against the Bruins could be a second round preview, as UCLA is currently fighting with Claremont and UC-San Diego for the third through fifth seeds in the upcoming playoffs.

"We're just looking to get everything together," senior attacker Jessica Deal said. "It will be the first time we've had a full squad in over four weekends."

Arizona was missing four players during last weekend's games at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, but the Wildcats were still able to beat Cal-Poly 11-7 to clinch the league title.

"For the first weekend in a long time we're at full boost," Dreiband said.

Deal said the Wildcats aren't about to take the Bruins lightly, either.

"They only lost to Cal-Poly by one," she said. "They're definitely not at the lower end of our league."
