• With the exploration of Mars in action right now, you want to be sure you're a part of the new discoveries. Peter Smith of Planetary Sciences will present a colloquium on the "Preliminary Results from Mars Pathfinder." Join Smith from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall, Room 308, of the Space Sciences building.

• Patricia Maria Cook will discuss "Basal Platform Mounds at Chau Hiix, Belize: Evidence for Ancient Maya Social Stratification and Cottage Industry Manufacturing." Join her discussion at 2 p.m. in Room 215 of the Anthropology building.
