A university employee called police Friday to report a man viewing child pornography over the Internet at the Center for Computing Information and Technology, 1077 N. Highland Ave.

A female student told the employee about the man, who was reportedly viewing the kiddie porn on a CCIT terminal at about 10:45 p.m.

The man left the premises before university police arrived, police reports stated.



University police arrested two Tucson residents on drug possession charges and two UA students were charged with theft and giving alcohol to a minor in the same Sunday traffic stop.

Officers stopped a sedan driven by University of Arizona student James Downing, 20, of the 2800 block of North Melpomene Way, for driving more than 50 mph in the a 35 mph zone on North Cherry Avenue near East Speedway Boulevard, police reports stated.

Police stopped the vehicle at North Campbell Avenue and Speedway and saw two passengers moving something around in the back, reports stated.

Downing reportedly told officers he had not been drinking and agreed to police requests to search the car.

According to police reports, officers found 9.2 grams of suspected marijuana and a Marlboro cigarette box containing suspected marijuana cigarettes.

Passengers Jamey Khamjani, 18, of the 6600 block of East Calle Donod, and Emily Fisher, 19, of the 2300 block of East Fort Lowell Road, were arrested on marijuana possession charges along with outstanding warrants, reports stated.

Downing was cited for speeding and theft, after officers found another Arizona driver's license in his wallet. He said he found the license and had intended to use it to buy beer.

Passenger Matthew Hull, 21, was charged with giving alcohol to a minor after a 24-pack of Miller Genuine Draft beer was found in the car.

Khamjani and Fisher were taken to Pima County Jail and Downing and Hull were released at the scene.


A McDonald's supervisor called university police Sunday after an outdoor advertisement sign was damaged near the new Student Union location.

The employee told police the placard was on the roof of the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd., because the restaurant was under construction, police reports stated.

The supervisor told police that when he left Saturday, the sign was undamaged.

He returned to find the sign painted with roof sealer at 12:05 a.m. Sunday.


A male student called police after receiving a harassing phone message late Friday afternoon.

The student told officers a male voice identified himself as "Jason," police reports stated.

The caller told the student to return his bike and he ("Jason") was going to take it from the student and "kick his fat ass."

The student told police he did not know the caller.

The student reportedly put a "*57" trace on the call and was advised to do the same on any future calls, police reports stated.
