Body identified as 18-year-old runaway

Pima County Sheriff's deputies have identified the body found in Reddington Pass early Tuesday morning as that of an 18-year-old who ran away from a psychiatric treatment center in October.

The man, David Larry Nickell, was reported as a runaway from the Desert Hills Center for Youth and Families, 5245 N. Camino de Oeste, on Oct. 6, said Deputy James Ogden, a Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Investigators still know little about why Nickell was killed and are asking anyone with information about his recent whereabouts to call 741-4900, Ogden said.
