UA to pay for NCAA rule
A $54.5 million settlement between entry-level college coaches and the NCAA will cost the UA an undetermined share of the damages, but the university's athletic assistants are unable to cash in on the lawsuit. Jim Rosborough, associate head coach for University of Arizona men's basketball, joined five other Division I coaches to register the first official complaints about the salary cap with the NCAA. But Rosborough decided to abstain from the litigation.






Terry named All-American
After becoming the first player to lead the Pacific 10 Conference in scoring, assists and steals in a season since Gary Payton in 1990, Jason Terry was named yesterday a first-team All-American.






Editorial: States must pick up the Violence Against Women Act
