New UA book policy criticized as illegal
A university policy forcing all professors to make their books available through the UA Associated Students Bookstore has been called illegal by some of its critics. "We've always had the expectation that faculty will make books available at the campus bookstore," said Michael Gottfredson, the policy's writer, interim provost and vice president for undergraduate education. "We want to enhance the accessibility (of books) for students."

If the UA baseball team (20-14 overall, 3-6 Pacific 10 Conference) wants to have a chance at making it to the regional playoffs, they are going to have to win, and win now. "We just have to play well," UA head coach Jerry Stitt said. "We do have to win. We only have 15 more conference games left and we have to win to get into the regionals.






homelessness in the technology age
University Boulevard, like so many areas around campus, is frequented by the homeless. Consequently, it is a minefield, where we play "Dodge the Homeless Person." We don't like to have to deal with them. We give them change just to leave us alone. This is just the beginning.
