Likins calls for gender equality study
UA President Peter Likins said a conclusive study on gender equality is needed because some
women faculty may experience discrimination in their academic careers.
"Subjective impressions don't provide conclusive answers," Likins said. "But gender bias is a very
real and continuing problem in America and it wouldn't surprise me if it was present at some level
in the University of Arizona."

Wildcats look frozen
The low temperature Saturday night seemed to seep into the
Arizona football team, making it appear sluggish in its annual
spring scrimmage.
"We looked horrible," UA junior quarterback Ortege Jenkins
said. "It's about being able to execute, and we didn't do that
tonight."

Editorial: Enforcing book policy gives
students more choices
The university has long had a policy requiring every instructor to list their books at the on-campus
ASUA Bookstore, but students in several classes wouldn't know it. That's because some
instructors consistently overlook the rule and use wide personal discretion in listing their books at a
pet place, frequently Antigone Books, thus denying their students the option of purchasing the
material at the on-campus store.
