From staff reports

UA junior swimmer Ryk Neethling and sophomore diver Lindsay Berryman were rewarded for their efforts this season by being named the Pacific 10 Conference's men's swimmer and women's co-diver of the year, respectively.

Neethling won three NCAA titles in the 200, 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle races this year, the second year in a row he had won those events. He has seven individual titles overall in three years of competition.

He also won both the 500 and 1,650 at the Pac-10 Championships.

The award is Neethling's third Pac-10 title in a row.

Berryman shared her award with Stanford sophomore Kim Powers, the first time in Pac-10 history the award was split. The UA sophomore is also a GTE Academic All-American, having maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her time in college.
