University police arrested a man who claimed to lead a white power group on Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence, police reports stated.

Justin L. Beers, of Anchorage, Alaska, was pulled over at about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Cherry Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard. He told officers he heads a group called the "Lime Street Kiwi" based out of Anchorage, reports stated.

While talking with Beers, an officer noticed that his breath smelled of alcohol, reports stated.

When the officer returned to his patrol car to run a background check, Beers reportedly re-started his engine.

The officer returned to the car and told Beers to turn off his engine. He then opened the driver's side door and grabbed Beer's left arm, reports stated.

Beers got out of the car but refused to take field sobriety tests, reports stated.

Beers reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .243 and was booked into Pima County Jail on a $1,300 bond. At his booking, Beers said he habitually uses heroin, reports stated.

A UA employee called police Monday morning to report damage to a women's restroom.

The custodian told officers a female sanitary supply vending machine in the women's restroom of the Biological Sciences West building, 1041 E. Lowell St., was damaged, reports stated.

The employee said a student reported the damage on Friday.

The bottom left corner of the machine was pried open and all the supplies and money were removed, reports stated.

Officers were unable to obtain fingerprints and they could not determine how much money or supplies had been stolen.

Police arrested a transient Sunday morning on suspicion of trespassing.

John Hayes, 54, of a general delivery address, was arrested at about 11:20 a.m. outside the James E. Rogers College of Law building, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd., reports stated.

A person called police to report that Hayes was walking backwards and talking to himself, reports stated.

When an officer confronted Hayes, he wouldn't answer questions. Police thought Hayes couldn't talk, so the officer gave him paper and a pen to write with, reports stated.

Hayes wrote that he was doing something for the federal district courts and he was searching for financial aid information, reports stated.

Police told Hayes he had to leave the property because the library was closed and Hayes refused, reports stated.

Police arrested Hayes after they discovered he was also warned for trespassing on UA property in May. He was cited and released at UAPD.

Police arrested a Tucson woman Monday night for an outstanding warrant after stopping her for a traffic violation.

Melissa Blevins, 19, of the 6000 block of East Golf Links, was arrested after police ran a computer check on her driver's license, reports stated.

Blevins had a Pima County Sheriff's Department warrant on her record for not appearing in court for allegedly issuing a bad check, reports stated.

Officers booked Blevins into Pima County Jail on a $500 bond.

Police arrested two students early Friday morning on suspicion of trespassing.

Ryan William Amato, 22, of the 2100 block of East First Street and Erin Grace Massey, 22, of the 2900 block of East Second Street were arrested at about 1:30 a.m., reports stated.

An officer was on patrol by the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, 1824 E. Enke Dr., when he saw Amato and Massey jump from the high diving board in the pool area, reports stated.

The students attempted to jump the north wall when the officer identified himself.

Amato told the officer, "I give up," and both students jumped back into the pool area, reports stated.

The students were both naked and they told officers their clothes were on the outside of the wall, reports stated.

Police gave the students their clothes and then arrested both on suspicion of second degree criminal trespass.

Amato and Massey were taken to pre-trial services where they were cited and released.

Police responded to a false fire alarm Sunday night.

Officers arrived at the Social Sciences building, 1145 E. South Campus Dr., at about 8:14 p.m., reports stated.

Glass had been broken from a pullstation on the southwest corner of the first floor. Officers were unable to obtain fingerprints. No fire was detected in the area.
