The increase of rainfall has brought more mosquitoes on the UA campus than usual, and scientists offered warnings about possible health dangers of being bitten by an unusual breed of the insect.
UA scientists have discovered a different species of mosquito that carries the encephalitis virus at Sweet water, a swamp in the Tucson area.

Home openers are nice.
Being the visiting team during another school's opener is not.
Just ask the Arizona football team, which was the visiting team for both Penn State and Texas Christian's home openers.
Now it's Middle Tennessee State's turn to be the visitor for the No. 19-ranked Wildcats' (1-1) home opener tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Arizona Stadium.

A President Peter Likins made his annual voyage to the ASUA Senate meeting on Wednesday night. A presidential tradition with Likins, the senators are welcomed into their new post and allowed to question the president about University of Arizona issues.

When Tori Spelling signed on to the production of "Trick," director Jim Fall must have thought he hit the jackpot. Here he was, a first-time director with a first-time screenwriter, trying to piece together a film to submit to the Sundance Festival. And who walks in but the most famous actress to grace both "Saved by the Bell" and "Beverly Hills 90210."
He probably thanked the gods for bringing her to him. Little did Fall know that this "blessing" would turn his entire group of actors into students of the Spelling school of drama.
