A UA student called university police Thursday after someone broke into his vehicle and stole items from him, police reports stated.

The man said he parked his car in the Cherry Avenue Garage, 1641 E. Enke Dr., at about 8 p.m. Wednesday and locked the doors.

When he returned to his car at about 5:14 p.m. Thursday, he noticed that his driver's side window was shattered and someone had stolen items from his 1991 Nissan Stanza.

The student's compact disc AM/FM stereo valued at a reported $300 was damaged and three compact discs valued at an estimated $50 were stolen.

The faceplate to the car stereo was also stolen.

There was no further evidence or fingerprints found at the scene.

Police spoke with a UA student Thursday after someone stole items from his car, reports stated.

The student told police he parked his car in the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St., at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and when he returned to it at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, his car had been broken into.

He said he locked and secured his windows and doors before leaving the car in the garage, but whoever broke into the car removed the driver's side window to gain entry to the car.

Police went to the scene to look for evidence and an officer noticed pry marks on the rubber window seal where the driver's side window was.

The student's gear shifter knob, ten-disc compact disc changer valued at $300, 20 compact discs valued at $300 and miscellaneous clothing valued at $100 were stolen from the car.

No fingerprints or further evidence were found at the scene.

The student said he last saw the wallet on a table in his room at Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

When he checked for the wallet at about 2 p.m. Thursday, he noticed it was missing.

The wallet contained his bank card, Arizona driver license, $500 in cash and a $10 check.

He said he didn't suspect his roommate of stealing the wallet, but he did say he would talk to friends of his roommate that were in the room during the time the wallet was stolen.
