As summer vacation fast approaches, most seniors are concerned with graduate school or careers.
But several UA graduating seniors have different plans - they will prepare to leave the country after receiving Fulbright scholarships.
Fulbright scholarships, awarded worldwide to 4,000 graduates every year, allow students to study abroad for a year after graduation, although many do not study at a structured college or university.

It's late during an intramural softball playoff game between the High Rollers and CNS when the High Rollers' shortstop fields a routine ground ball and attempts to throw the runner out at first base. The ball and the runner arrive at the same time, and the umpire calls the runner safe, setting off protests from the High Rollers.
After the play, umpire Dan Williams, a systems engineering junior, listens to the High Rollers' captain and he calmly tells the player the rules and says from where he was standing, the runner was safe.

Internet notetaking service requires caution

Versity.com, an Internet notetaking service that hires UA students to publish their class notes on the Web, ought only to be used at the discretion of individual professors.
On Wednesday, UA student and Versity.com operations manager Luke Denmon inappropriately advertised for the company in Prof. Jim Mitchell's Journalism 208 class. Armed with a megaphone, Denmon entered Mitchell's classroom and encouraged students to get their notes off the Web instead of attending class.

Former drug addict brings 'Vision Warrior' to UA

Scot Anthony Robinson's drug addictions and homelessness were sources of inspiration for his dramatic lecture-presentation, "Vision Warrior."
The University of Arizona was the latest school for Robinson to spread his message about drug and alcohol prevention to today's youth. A nearly packed Harvill room 150 saw his presentation, which addressed life issues, including self-esteem, sex and peer pressure.
