A UA student called university police Tuesday after someone broke into his car and stole about $2,000 worth of property, police reports stated.

The man left his 1993 Honda Accord in a lot at 822 E. Fifth St. at 10:30 p.m. Monday, and when he returned at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, he found his car broken into and damaged, reports stated.

According to reports, the car's trunk, passenger window, rear floor carpet, trunk release lever, inside right door handle, rear seat frame and front right door handle were damaged.

Stolen from the car were a radar detector valued at an estimated $150, a speaker valued at an estimated $350, six amplifiers valued at an estimated $1,100, amplifier crossovers valued at an estimated $350 and a kephibitor impulse device valued at an estimated $80, reports stated.

Police found no fingerprints on the car because of the extensive damage, reports stated.


A UA student called police Tuesday after someone broke into her car and stole compact discs and a stereo, reports stated.

The woman parked her car at 11:30 p.m. Monday in a lot at 822 E. Fifth St. and when she returned Tuesday morning, she found the soft top of her 1999 Jeep Wrangler cut away with a pair of orange-handled scissors left near the car, reports stated.

Stolen from the Jeep were 30 compact discs and a compact disc player, reports stated.

Police were unable to get fingerprints from the scissors because the texture of the handle was too rough, reports stated.


A UA employee contacted police Tuesday after finding a window in his office vandalized, reports stated.

The man, who works in the Mines-Metallurgy building, 1235 E. North Campus Dr., said he went to work at about 9 a.m. and found his window broken, reports stated.

According to reports, the window was broken by a bottle, but nothing was stolen from the office.

Police contacted Facilities Management to clean the glass and replace the window, reports stated.


A UA student contacted police Tuesday after his car was broken into, reports stated.

The man left his 1999 Jeep Wrangler in a parking lot on North Park Avenue and East Fourth Street at about 10 p.m. Sunday, reports stated.

When he returned at 7 a.m. Tuesday, he found his compact disc player, a Zone I parking permit and a citizen's band radio stolen from the vehicle, reports stated.

According to reports, a green-handled flat head screwdriver was found in the Jeep.

The car's dashboard and console were damaged in the theft, reports stated.


A UA student called police Tuesday after his car was vandalized while parked in a campus area parking lot, reports stated.

The man said he left his car at about 5 p.m. Monday in a lot at 822 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

When he returned, he noticed that someone had made three eight-to-ten-inch cuts in the soft top of his 1996 Pontiac Sunbird, reports stated.

According to reports, the top is valued at an estimated $2,000.


Police responded Tuesday after a student reported his car was broken into, reports stated.

The man said his 1987 Dodge Shadow was parked in a lot at East Fifth Street and North Euclid Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday when the break-in occurred, reports stated.

According to reports, the rear driver's side window was broken and the steering column was damaged, indicating an attempt to steal the car, reports stated.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicle, but police lifted two fingerprints from the car, reports stated.


A UA student contacted police Tuesday after a skateboard and sunglasses were stolen from his car, reports stated.

The man parked his car at 2 a.m. at the Corleone Apartments Residence Hall parking lot, 1330 N. Park Ave., and when he returned at 6 a.m., he found the car broken into, reports stated.

According to reports, someone removed the back window of the man's 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck and took the skateboard and sunglasses.

The window was intact, but it could not be put back into its place, reports stated.

The skateboard is valued at an estimated $50, and the sunglasses are valued at an estimated $70, reports stated.
