As the UA women's soccer team makes its final road trip of the season, they have one thing on their mind-winning.

The Wildcats (6-8-1 overall, 0-5-0 Pacific 10 Conference) are looking for their first Pac-10 victory of the season as they travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on Washington and Washington State.

Junior forward Chrissy Sanford continues to lead the team in scoring with 10 goals and five assists (25 points) and sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Monti, who has a 2.79 goals-against-average in 10 matches this year will defend the net for the Wildcats.

UA will be looking to improve their scoring as they have only scored two goals in the last three games.

Sophomore midfielder Marisa Padula likes the team's chances to finish strong this year, "Four games left, (along with games against Oregon and Oregon State) so hopefully four more wins; I think we can definitely win," she said.

UA will take on Washington State this afternoon, marking UA head coach Lisa Fraser's return to her former stomping grounds. Fraser was the first coach in Cougar history and compiled a 52-31-7 career record in her five years there.

Washington State (6-9-0 overall, 0-5-0 Pac-10), like UA, is looking for its first Pac-10 victory of the season as well.

Junior forward Deka DeWitt leads the Cougars in scoring with eight goals and five assists (21 points), and she is followed by freshman forward Katrina Stroh who has four goals and three assists (11 points).

Washington State should present the challenge Colorado College did to the Wildcats when they tied 0-0 in an extremely defensive battle last Sunday.

"The next four matches will all be like Colorado College," Fraser said, on the importance of maintaining the defensive pressure that was present in the game with Colorado College.

After taking on Washington State, UA will play Washington on Sunday afternoon.

Washington (6-7-1 overall, 3-1-1 Pac-10) is coming off a sweep of the Oregon schools and looks to present a large challenge to the Wildcats.

The Huskies are lead by a solid goalkeeping tandem of freshman Hope Solo and junior Leslie Weeks, who have four shutouts between them.

Leading Washington in scoring is sophomore forward Caroline Putz who has seven goals and four assists (21 points).

The Wildcats are looking to work off of the momentum they gained from last week's scoreless tie with Colorado College.

"This momentum that we are gathering-we are going to keep getting this momentum right up...through the Pac-10," sophomore midfielder Twila Kaufman said.
