Survey: most UA students are not planning to vote in city elections

After months of being bombarded with propositions and mayoral campaigns, election day has finally arrived. But most University of Arizona students do not plan to participate. Out of 50 students questioned in an informal Arizona Daily Wildcat survey yesterday, only 24 percent planned to vote in the city elections today.

Wildcats split up for scrimmage

The UA men's basketball team gets a chance to show the public just how deep its squad is tonight at the annual intrasquad scrimmage. The Pepsi red-blue game begins at 7 p.m. at McKale Center. Leading the red team, coached by associate head coach Jim Rosborough, will be junior center Loren Woods, sophomore forwards Michael Wright and Rick Anderson, sophomore guard Ruben Douglas and redshirt senior forward Eugene Edgerson.

What lurks in the hearts of men
[news] In our modern, seemingly tolerant society, it is sometimes easy to forget that bigotry still exists. Throughout the last few weeks, I was confronted with a sad truth: hatred lives just around the corner. In the wake of an article written by John Ward dealing with "Coming Out Week," and the ramifications it has on society, the Arizona Daily Wildcat was flooded with letters. Most of those who wrote in misinterpreted his column as being against homosexuality itself.

Termite TV makes a stop in Tucson

NBC will never air "The Concept of a Triangle" in its Thursday night lineup. That's because "Concept" is an experimental, untraditional documentary that doesn't star Courtney Cox and is made by a roving group of documentary video makers called Termite TV. Termite TV, based out of Philadelphia, is a traveling group of four members: Dorothea Braemer, Michael Kuetemeyer, Carl Lee and Anula Shetty.
