A 34-year-old man died Tuesday at the University of Arizona Student Recreation Center, a UAPD report stated.

According to the report, Ronald Koleas lost consciousness at about 8:17 p.m. while walking downstairs after playing racquetball on the second floor of the building, located at 1400 E. First St.

He was pronounced dead at 8:52 p.m. after rescue workers transported him to University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave.

Three employees saw him fall and hit his head on a stair near the bottom of the stairs, the report stated.

The employees checked his pulse and breath, and they began to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

A UAPD officer arrived shortly after the employees began CPR and the Tucson Fire Department responded less than a minute later, the report stated.

The cause of Koleas' death has not yet been determined, but the police report referred to it as "natural."

Koleas was at the recreation center on a five-day pass. He was not a UA student.

A relative with Koleas at the recreation center notified Koleas' wife.

Kate Jensen, a UMC spokesperson, said Koleas' cause of death has not been determined.

"He did die last night," she said. "But the doctors aren't sure why yet."
