Here is your chance to hear about some of NASA's top technology in use at our very own university. Come hear about NICMOS, the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer attached to the Hubble telescope, in Dean Hines' speech, "Near, Far, Young and Old: The Universe Unveiled by NICMOS." Hines, part of the Steward Observatory, will begin speaking at 7:30 p.m., and his presentation should last around one hour. This is part of the Steward Observatory's Public Evening Series, and they take place in the building's lecture hall, room N210. Immediately following the presentation, Steward Observatory officials will open up their 21-inch telescope for viewing of the night sky, weather permitting. If you are in need of more information, give Thomas Fleming of the observatory a call at 621-5049

In an attempt to bring a little joy to your day, the University Activities Board is bringing the B-Side Players to play a little music for you on the UA Mall today. Starting at noon, the Groovin' On The Grass series takes another turn with a little muzak to make lunch a little better. This will be the last performance of the semester for this series, so eat it up while you can. Free pizza will be available to celebrate a semester of bringing lunch-time entertainment to you, so make sure to show up right after they begin to get some. The B-Side Players should play for around one hour. Think you have ideas for next semester's bands? Call William Guth at 621-1111 with your suggestions.

So you think you have some mad card- playing skills? Try your hand at Spades with the Intramural sports office's annual Spades tournament in two weeks. Sign-ups begin today and last until Dec. 2. The hours of operation for the Intramural Sports office are from noon to 6 each weekday. If you still have concerns, you can give a call to Brian Jacoby at 621-8723.

Considered to be musical legends in their homeland, Ferrer and Gonzales have been playing since the 1940s where they pioneered the Cuban jazz scene. Taking place tonight at Centennial Hall, the show is being presented by the Buena Vista Social Club. The show starts at 7:30, and tickets run from $22 to $34. Tickets can be obtained by calling the Centennial Hall Box Office at 621-3341 or stopping by.
