Healing the oak tree
| |
|
Dr. David Rakel treated patients at a four-bed family hospital in rural Idaho for five years, and often felt unprepared to treat some of his patients.
He spent most of his time dealing with problems he simply couldn't treat, such as chronic pain, cancer and auto-immune disease.
Rakel finally concluded that his traditional medical education was not enough.
He is one of about 85 physicians to apply to the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine, and was accepted into the third class of fellows.

Good-bye, Aloha
| |
|
It was a season summed up in a single game.
The defense couldn't tackle as a whole, while the front seven couldn't penetrate consistently and the secondary couldn't cover anyone.
The special teams' kicking was awful, their ability to block and cover wasn't there.
The offense couldn't execute when it mattered most and couldn't put together a solid drive until it was too late.

Editorial: New fraternity alcohol policy solves nothing
| |
|
The Interfraternity Council's decision to move all fraternity parties where liquor is served off UA greek property is a misguided attempt to solve the system's problems with alcohol.
Obviously, any attempt at truly remedying problems that arise from wild parties where alcohol flows freely is a positive change for campus fraternities.
However, this change does not solve the problem of alcohol consumption within fraternities and is simply an attempt to improve the greek system's reputation.

In 1995, Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios released the first "Toy Story" film, about toys that come alive without influence from their owners, but there was a familiar face missing: Barbies. Yet, after the sweeping success of the film, Mattel changed their attitude and now Barbie has become part of one of the most enjoyable ensembles in film history.
