God loves all

Talk about this story

To the editor,

God does not hate people. In fact, "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." - John 3:16-17.

It is true that God hates sin: adultery, murder, lying, bigotry, pride, homosexuality, racism and gossip. The mistake we make is to assume that everyone else has worse sins than we do. So we resort to stabbing homosexuals in the back, condemning Christians for an anti-gay stance or not being compassionate when compassion is required. But the truth is that we're all messed up and in need of some help.

Because of our sin, we are all on equal footing. But Jesus is awesome because he came to restore our relationship with God by offering a way to be justified before God! Those of us who are Christians need to remember where we have come from so we can give the same compassion to others that God has shown to us. And for those who don't yet know Christ, he is waiting to build a relationship with you if you will turn to him and ask him to help you live. The only unforgivable mistake that we can make is to try and live a good life by ourselves and for ourselves. That's where the real hell begins. Please e-mail me if you want to know more!
