Rally unites religions on campus
Faiths condemn terrorist actions, profess shared belief in God
Local leaders of the Jewish and Islamic faiths came together for a rally on the UA Mall yesterday evening.
The rally began with a parade, which started at the Islamic Center of Tucson, 901 E. First St. Imam and director of the center Omar Shahin led a parade of Jewish, Christian and Islamic people to the University of Arizona Mall. Members of the Islamic Center held signs that stated "Muslim community behind America."

Greeks unite to raise funds for Red Cross
A reported $3,000 collected as of yesterday
A UA fraternity and sorority joined forces yesterday to raise money to aid the American Red Cross in its rescue efforts involved with Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority members stood on the University of Arizona Mall asking people passing by for a $1 donation - enough to receive a red, white and blue ribbon in memory of the victims - but some donations have been made in larger amounts.

Irrational retribution will not be tolerated
I have been receiving reports that my fears of irrational retribution against members of our community are being realized in the form of death threats and harassment of Islamic students. This behavior is a disgrace to our university and will not be tolerated.

Madagascar band's show will go on
Hanitra (pronounced "Anch") Rasoanaivo is part of Madagascar's most successful music group, Tarika. She and her four band mates will play the International Arts Center Nations Hall, 516 N. Fifth Avenue, tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Tarika released its seventh major album, Soul Makassar, earlier this year.
