Police officials play it safe after center receives envelope containing white, powdery substance
The Islamic Center of Tucson received a letter yesterday afternoon that they suspected contained anthrax, but tests revealed the suspicion was false.

Torregrosa named National Player of the Week
After a slow start this season, UA junior outside hitter Shannon Torregrosa picked up her play against USC and UCLA last week, setting career highs in kills and kill percentage.
After her consecutive strong outings, she was named the AVCA/Sports Imports National Player of the Week, the first time a Wildcat player has ever earned such an honor.

With economic trends not as promising as recent years, students graduating might want to enroll in graduate school for a more competitive edge before jumping into the job market, a UA economics professor said.

After finally getting back into action after missing the first six games with an ankle injury, senior defensive end Eli Wnek might miss more action.
He pulled his hamstring Saturday in the 41-34 loss to Southern California.
"I call it a training camp injury," head coach John Mackovic said. "I feel for him since it was only his second week back."

Wildcat should use discretion with ads
I, for the first time today, looked at the Wildcat online. I normally scan through the paper, but today I decided I wanted to see one of today's edition's photographs more closely. When I opened the Wildcat Web page, I was totally appalled. I am a member of the Career Staff and have been working at the UA for 12 years. I was also a student here back in the mid-70s.
