The UA women's tennis team will travel to South Bend, Ind., this weekend for the ECK Classic, marking the first tournament under new head coach Vicky Maes.

The event will be held on the campus of Notre Dame and will feature Texas A&M, Indiana and UA in addition to the Fighting Irish.

Of the teams competing, Arizona is the only team that did not earn berth at the NCAA tournament last year.

Wildcat sophomore Debbie Larocque and senior Laresa Marino are the highest-ranking doubles partners in the tournament.

They come into this weekend's event ranked No. 13, moving up 38 places from last years International Tennis Association rankings.

Another Arizona player - freshman Danielle Stadelmann - is looking to continue her solid play after she earned a spot last weekend in the main draw of Region VIII Tournament.

"I hope I do well at Notre Dame because my dad will be watching," Stadelmann said.
