A UA student called police Tuesday night after a she saw a man masturbating inside of a campus building, police reports stated.

The student was approached on the fifth floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd. She was alone in a study room when she saw a man expose his penis and begin masturbating, reports stated.

The UA student told officers that the suspect was in his early 20s, had curly hair, and was wearing a yellow polo shirt with khaki pants.

Police searched the entire building but were unable to find a suspect matching the masturbator's description, reports stated.

The UA student told officers that she would recognize the man if she saw him again and was willing to make a composite sketch of the man.

Officers warned library staff to call police if they saw the man in the building again, reports stated.

Police were called Thursday afternoon when a UA employee found a recording device inside the women's shower room at a campus gym, reports stated.

The employee was installing emergency exit lights in the women's locker room of Bear Down Gym, 1428 E. University Blvd. He called police after he noticed that an audio recording device was attached to a showerhead in the locker room.

Police arrived at the gym and searched both locker rooms but were unable to find any suspects or other recording devices.

The employee told officers that the recording device had no legitimate reason to be in the locker room, reports stated.

Officers do not know how long the device was attached to the showerhead.

The dumpster was on the southeast side of La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave. When fire personnel arrived, the trash container was smoldering, but security guards reported initial flames, reports stated.

The fire was extinguished, and police officers pulled the bin away from the building. Fire crews believe the fire was not arson related, but was likely the result of a cigarette, reports stated.

Police contacted UA Facilities Management. There was minimal damage done to the container, however the fire did cause some discoloration.

Stout, 22, was driving 15 mph over the posted speed limit, reports stated.

A passenger in the vehicle told officers that Stout was driving home because the other people in the car were drunk.

Stout was cited and released for suspicion of racing on a highway, reports stated.

A UA student's car was stolen from a campus garage Monday evening.

The student told officers that he last saw his vehicle Aug. 18 on the third level of the Park Avenue Garage, 1140 N. Park Ave.

He told officers that the vehicle was locked but did not have a security device. The car has three chrome hubcaps and one stock hubcap.

The student denied leaving car keys in the vehicle, but told officers that he did have a cell phone in the car, reports stated.

There are no suspects at this time.

A wallet was taken from inside a UA laboratory Monday morning, reports stated.

A UA custodian called police when he found a wallet inside a bathroom garbage can at the Veterinary Science Building, 1117 E. Lowell St.

Police contacted the owner of the wallet. She told police that she works in a lab at the same building. She hid the wallet from outside view in the lab on Aug. 18. The employee told officers that $30 was missing from her wallet, but no other items were taken.

Another UA employee who works at the same building told police that he saw a suspicious man snooping around the building on Aug 18. The man was peeking into open doors and looking around the room.
