Everyone knows getting a job is tough, but UA Career Services has one goal: putting you on the fast track for work outside, in the real world. Head down to Old Main from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and get some free counseling about career planning and job search needs. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you live on the ground level of any building or home in Tucson, chances are you have tiny, six- or eight-legged guests hanging out. Well, if you want to know more about your guests to better understand them and their habits, go to the Marley building, Room 230, at 4 p.m. to hear Nicholas Strausfeld present "Learning, Memory and the Insect Brain." Strausfeld is a joint professor of neurobiology, entomology, anatomy, ecology and evolutionary biology at UA. Monologues are in, and Tim Miller is bringing his to Nations Hall in the International Arts Center, 516 N. Fifth Ave., tonight at 7:30. Miller is an acclaimed performance artist with experience teaching at UCLA and in the California State system. His performance uses humor and poignancy to chronicle his struggles to live as a gay man in America with his Australian partner Alistair. Miller performed at Centennial Hall during the 1997-98 UApresents season. All seats are $25 for general admission. Ever wonder why soccer fans in Europe are so damn crazy? Here's your chance to check out a German film about a group of fanatics in Germany who take matters into their own hands to make sure their favorite team's star performs. "Soccer Rules," like other films in the German Film Series, is in German with English subtitles. The show is free and begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Modern Languages auditorium.
