Highlights
KFMA Day lived up to most of the hype for the all-day concert on Sunday. Concertgoers who crept their way to the front stayed cool in the hot sun thanks to crewmembers who hosed down sweaty fans. The All-American Rejects put on a great show; they were one of the first bands to really rev up the crowd. AFI's lead singer, Davey Havok, flipped offstage and into the masses for a crowd surfing session early in his set. The Foo Fighters played with high energy and dazzled the audience, made up of mostly adults by the time the sun set. And the lead singer, Dave Grohl, dished out criticism: "You need a lift. Yours are crooked. Your s are totally fake," he said as women in the crowd flashed their breasts.
Lowlights
The much anticipated Evanescence cancelled its spot on the KFMA Day line-up because a member of the band was in the hospital. KFMA assured the crowd that Evanescence had already contacted the radio station about rescheduling. Another crowd bummer was Eve 6. Although they showed up, Eve 6's lack of energy onstage spread quickly to the crowd, creating a lull in the day that was only revived by the headlining band, Foo Fighters.
