A UA student's laptop computer was stolen Tuesday from the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The laptop was stolen after the student stepped outside to smoke and left it on a desk on the third floor. The estimated value of the laptop is $2,000, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

A student was cited on charges of being a minor in possession of alcohol outside Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, 1449 N. Cherry Ave., Tuesday, reports stated.

A UAPD officer arrived at the scene to investigate a report of public drinking and found a group of males gathered outside the fraternity, drinking from what appeared to be cans and bottles of beer, reports stated.

When the officer pulled his patrol car up to the curb, one of the males went into a squatting position and dropped a can of beer. The man then started walking toward the building, reports stated.

The officer ordered the man to stop, but he continued into the house. The officer then followed the man into the building, down one hallway and into another, and asked him to stop again. The man then turned into his room and was approached by the officer before he could close the door, reports stated.

The officer told the man to go outside, and he complied. Once outside, the officer asked the man for his name, but the man did not answer. The officer then asked for his ID and the man said he wanted to talk to his lawyer. The officer informed the man he could do that later, but that he still needed to present identification, reports stated.

As the officer arrested the man on charges of being a minor in possession, the man said he thought it was OK to drink on private property. The officer told him he was wrong, and asked why he did not stop before he reached his room. The man said that he couldn't hear him, reports stated.

The man told the officer that if he were in Wisconsin he would not be arrested for drinking in his parent's house, reports stated.

When the officer followed the man into the house, he asked other men standing in the doorway to stop him, but they ignored him. One of the men told the officer that he didn't have any authority at the house and blocked the doorway, reports stated.

When the officer told him that he would be arrested too if he didn't move, the man moved out of the way, reports stated.

A student was cited on charges of disorderly conduct following a laundry dispute Monday at Babcock Inn, 1717 E. Speedway Blvd., reports stated.

The incident occurred between two male students in the laundry room. One of the men asked the other if he had taken his jeans out of the dryer. The other man became argumentative and said, "I wouldn't touch those dirty things," according to UAPD reports.

The first student told the other student he was not going to "get into it," and continued to fold his clothes, but the second student continued to try to instigate a fight. He followed the first student out of the laundry room, yelling and cussing at him, reports stated.

The first student felt threatened and decided to call police, reports stated.

The second student then went to another room in the residence and asked its four occupants if they knew the other man. They said they did, and he told them that they should tell him to "watch his back" and "stay on his toes," reports stated.

When the students asked if he was threatening the other student, he said he had five lawyers that could get him kicked out of school, reports stated.

The residents told police they also did not feel comfortable around the second student.

Two UA officers contacted the disruptive student Tuesday to inform him of the report issued against him. He said he was not at fault and told police he wanted to file his own report against them, reports stated.

The officers advised the man to stay away from the other students until the court date.

A student's bicycle was stolen Tuesday at the SALT Center, 1010 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.

The bike was an aluminum-colored men's mountain bike. The bike, along with its lock, was stolen from the bike rack on the south side of the building, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
