A man sent harassing e-mails to several UA alumni between March 21 and Sunday, reports stated.
A UA employee told police the man had somehow obtained the names from the alumni listserv. The employee said he had received 15 complaints from alumni about the man's e-mails.
In the e-mails, the man asked the recipient's ethnicities and whether they knew any Asian provocateurs. The man also referenced a psychologist from the University of Southern California who had been exterminated, and a graduate student who was pumped with crack, reports stated.
The employee told police some of the alumni felt threatened by the e-mail.
Police advised the employee to tell the alumni to report any further e-mails, reports stated.
Someone threw a rock at a student's windshield Wednesday afternoon while she was driving on East Sixth Street near North Highland Avenue, reports stated.
The student flagged down police after her windshield was hit and said the rock had come from a nearby bus station.
The student's windshield had a star-shaped crack in it, reports stated.
Police went to the bus stop, where there were several Mansfield Junior High School students waiting to get on the bus.
When police asked the students who had thrown the rock, several of them said a girl had thrown it and run.
One student gave the name of the girl to police and said she had seen the girl throw the rock.
Police talked to the school's principal and got the girl's home phone number.
The girl's mother told police her daughter had not thrown the rock, reports stated.
A $300 leaf blower with a broken handle was stolen Tuesday morning from a Facilities Management truck parked in front of the "Swede" Johnson building, 1111 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.
A UA employee told police she had put the leaf blower into the truck after using it around 8 a.m., and when she returned less than an hour later, the leaf blower was gone.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
Two students told police they saw a man masturbating Tuesday afternoon on the third floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
When police approached the man, he turned away, and subtly checked his crotch with his hand while looking at his zipper.
Police handcuffed the man so he would not run away and took him to a study room to be interviewed.
The man was released pending further investigation, and police took pictures where the man had been sitting, reports stated.
A headlight from a 1998 Mercedes was stolen Tuesday night while the car was parked in the Tyndall Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., reports stated.
The owner of the Mercedes said he had parked his car around noon, and when he returned around 3 p.m., he saw his headlight was missing.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A red and black mountain bike with a U-Lock attached to the seat was found Wednesday night at the front desk of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
A library employee told police she had kept the bike for a while, hoping someone would claim it.
The bike was taken to UAPD, where it was picked up by Parking and Transportation Services, reports stated.
