A student received a threatening phone call just after midnight Saturday at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house, 1509 E. Second St., reports stated.

The man, to whom she had given her phone number at a party Friday, called her and left a message saying he was "gonna get" her boyfriend, reports stated.

The student's boyfriend also told police the man had "crashed" his fraternity's party, reports stated.

When the man was told to leave the party, he threatened to come back "with his homies" and shoot the student's boyfriend, reports stated.

The man also told the boyfriend he would be "dead on the ground," reports stated.

Officers searched the area for the man but could not find him. They tried to contact him by telephone and left a message, reports stated.


A custodian with Facilities Management found bottles of beer, feces and urine on the floor and shelves around the toilet in the men's restroom on the main floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, reports stated.

The custodian said he opened the building before business hours and saw a man leaving the building, reports stated.

When he asked the man why he was there, the man said he had been locked in, which the custodian said was impossible because the doors open from the inside even if locked on the outside, reports stated.

The custodian asked that there be regular building checks on weekend nights, reports stated.


Five men verbally threatened a member of Beta Theta Pi, and threw rocks at the windows of the fraternity house, 645 E. University Blvd., around 4 a.m. Friday, reports stated.

The member opened the front door and saw the men throwing rocks at the house windows. The men noticed the member, told him to "fuck off" and threatened to assault him, reports stated.

The member told the men to knock it off, went inside the house, locked the door and told other fraternity members, reports stated.

When the members came downstairs, the five men were shouting and continuing the verbal abuse, reports stated.

One of the men jumped onto a window ledge on the east side of the house and continued throwing rocks and making verbal threats, reports stated.

Police found the man the member described, and the student said he wanted to press charges, reports stated.

The man admitted to disorderly conduct and was cited and released, reports stated.


Twenty-five white plastic rental chairs were stolen from a patio at the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., sometime Friday night, reports stated.

The woman who had rented the chairs left them on the patio at 10 p.m. Friday, and when she returned at 8 a.m. Saturday they were gone, reports stated.

Each $7.50 chair had a logo tag that said they were from Party Concepts, 4755 S. Butterfield Drive, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol in front of the Alpha Phi sorority house, 1339 E. First St, at 2 a.m. on Friday, reports stated.

Bicycle police saw the student walking in front of the house with a can in his back right pocket and stopped him to ask what it was, reports stated.

The student showed them his cell phone, wallet, and eventually, two unopened cans of Bud Light beer, reports stated.

Police asked the student his name and age, and he said, "I don't know." He then gave officers a name, and when they started to run a record check he said he had given them a fake name. He then gave them his real name, reports stated.

The student's police record showed he had a history of being argumentative with law enforcement officers, reports stated.

The student began to shout at the officers and told them that in Chicago the "cops at home would let me slide," and that the officers should let him go, reports stated.

While police were writing up the student's citation, the student became increasingly belligerent, reports stated.

When officers explained the citation, the student said, "Fuck no. I ain't signing it," reports stated.

The officers explained the alternative, the student signed the citation and was quickly released, reports stated.

As the officers left the student, he continued to shout and said, "Yeah get on your bike and ride away," reports stated.

The cans of beer were poured out at the scene.
