Someone graffitied a cement pole with colored chalk sometime between April 22 and Friday at the Arizona Stadium, 530 N. Vine Ave., reports stated.
When police arrived, a UA custodian told them the vandalism occurred sometime between 3 a.m. on April 22 and 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
Police saw that the graffiti on the pole had all been written in colored chalk. One message in green chalk read, "People Music Derek," another message in pink said, "I am creative control." There was also a green butterfly drawn on the pole, reports stated.
The custodian washed off the chalk with soapy water and a brush.
There was no permanent damage to the pole.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A man was cited for speeding early Sunday morning at East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue, reports stated.
Around 2 a.m. police noticed a black car spin its tires when the light turned green at a stoplight, creating a lot of smoke, reports stated.
The black car then sped off and police followed it.
Police noticed the car was speeding and pulled it over.
When police asked the man why he had spun out at the stoplight, the man said, "My tires are old."
The man then said to police, "Can you give me a break?" reports stated.
The man was cited and released, reports stated.
A man who was sleeping in a wash at East Eighth Street and North Euclid Avenue was arrested after police found a baggie of marijuana and rolling papers in his possession, reports stated.
Police were searching the wash on foot patrol when they found the man.
The wash was known for having stolen bike parts and being a haven for drug use, reports stated.
When the man got up, police saw he was lying on a baggie of green leafy substance and rolling papers.
Police searched the man and found two books of checks with someone else's name on them, a cell phone, two syringes and a yellow plastic spoon.
One of the checks was made out to Denny's for $21, reports stated.
The man admitted to police that the marijuana and zigzags were his and said he'd found the checks in the dumpster.
The owner of the checks was contacted and told police the checks, his phone and his birth certificate had all been stolen after a long night of partying.
The man was cited and released, reports stated
A man who was drinking in an alley near 7-Eleven, 1750 E. Speedway Blvd., was arrested for trespassing and having four active warrants late Sunday night, reports stated.
When police arrived, they saw the man was drinking a
40-ounce bottle of Steel Reserve.
After police identified the man, they discovered he had four warrants and was forbidden from being in the alley because of a previous warning.
The man was booked into Pima County Jail, reports stated.
Police cited one student for drinking underage and another for having a fake ID early Saturday morning after they got a report that someone was smoking marijuana at Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., reports stated.
When police arrived, a student told them his roommate's friends had brought marijuana into the room and were smoking it by the window. The student said he had asked them to leave.
Police talked to one of the friends and noticed he smelled like alcohol. The friend told police he had had two beers earlier but that there were no drugs or alcohol in the room. Police searched the room and didn't find any drugs or alcohol. The friend was cited for drinking underage.
Another student in the room told police he didn't have an ID with him, but police could follow him to get his ID.
Police followed the student to his room, where he looked through his drawers. Police noticed what appeared to be a fake ID. When police asked the student about the ID, the student got nervous, reports stated.
The student then admitted it was a fake ID and was cited and released, reports stated.
A loud party was broken up early Saturday morning at the Delta Chi fraternity house, 1701 E. First St., reports stated.
When police arrived, they heard loud music and voices from the street.
Police saw about 40 people in the courtyard and about 60 more in the house.
Police told a member of Delta Chi the party needed to be shut down immediately.
Delta Chi members began clearing out the house, reports stated.
