A UA library employee stole another library employee's wallet from the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., and then used it to buy shampoo, conditioner, food and clothes from the UofA Bookstore as well as dinner at Chipotle Mexican Grill and a bottle of Jack Daniel's Tuesday night, reports stated.

When police arrived, a library employee said he had put his wallet in an employee cabinet. The employee said the suspect had then asked him if he could cover his shift and work the front counter. The employee said the suspect had been acting strange and sounded really nervous. The employee said he had agreed to let the suspect work his shift, reports stated.

After his shift was over, the employee discovered his wallet was gone. The employee got a call from a Wells Fargo representative asking him about six suspicious transactions that had recently been made with his ATM card.

Police contacted the suspect and met with him at the student union. When police asked the suspect if he knew who had stolen the employee's wallet, the suspect said, " Yes I do. It was me," reports stated.

When police asked the suspect why he had stolen the wallet, the suspect said he didn't know and had seen it while getting his bag out and had decided to take it. The suspect said, "It was stupid," reports stated.

When police asked the suspect where it was, the suspect said he had hidden it in the basement of the library. The suspect then showed police where he had hidden the wallet, and police noticed the ATM card was missing from the wallet.

When police asked the suspect where it was, he said, "Oh, I threw it in a trash can after I ate at Chipotle's on University Boulevard," reports stated.

The suspect said he had given the food, shampoo and conditioner to people walking on the street and had thrown away the Jack Daniel's.

The suspect said he had kept the UA shorts and shirt he had bought at the bookstore, reports stated.

The suspect went with police to Chipotle and took the ATM card out of the trash.

Police then took the suspect home and got the UA shorts and shirt.

The suspect was arrested for theft and fraud, reports stated.

A man stole a 79 cent black pen Thursday morning from the UofA Bookstore, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When police arrived, a bookstore employee told them that through the security monitors she had seen a man pick up the black pen and then walk out of the store with it.

The employee said she had tried to catch the man, but that when she walked outside, the man was gone.

Police put the security monitor video into evidence, reports stated.

A student told police Thursday afternoon that another student had harassed her for three years, reports stated.

The student told police she had met the suspect in the Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., when she was a freshman.

The student said the suspect had begun sending her e-mails and letters, and that the suspect had also asked her friends for information about her.

The student said she had told the suspect she didn't want to be friends with him or have any contact with him.

When police contacted the suspect, he said he had gone on a couple of dates with the student, but agreed not to contact her, reports stated.

Two students said they were assaulted by each other Wednesday afternoon during the creation of a human Israeli flag and protest on the Mall, 1330 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When police arrived, one of the students said he had been holding a string of balloons when another student walked in his path.

The student holding the balloons then said the other student had pushed him. The student with the balloons fell to the ground and began yelling, "Assault, assault," reports stated.

The student holding the balloons said he had had problems before with the other student and wanted to press charges, reports stated.

Two other men told police they had seen the student block the path of the student holding the balloons.

One of the men said he had seen the student push the student who was holding the balloons, while the other man said he had only seen the student fall down and yell assault.

Police spoke to the accused student, who said he had not pushed the student holding balloons.

The student said he had gone up to the student holding balloons and asked what he was doing, reports stated.

The student said the student holding balloons had then said he and his group were going to surround them, reports stated.

The student then told police he had pointed to the balloons and asked the student holding the balloons what it was. The student said the student holding balloons had then shoved him, knocking him down. The student said he wanted to press charges, reports stated.

Police did not have enough evidence to charge either student with assault, reports stated.
