"Charge?"

"University men gathered by the wall on Park Avenue in a half-hearted attempt to Îstorm' the women's residence halls in a raid Wednesday night.

"An attempt to stage a second Îpanty raid' in as many nights was conducted by more than 250 university men Wednesday.

Re-he-heeeeally?

"A small band that stormed Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall was deflected by campus police, city police and administration officials. · Police spotlights followed several panties as they floated to the deserted sidewalk in front of the residence hall.

"Dean of Men Robert S. Svob said the Îpanty raid' caused no property damage and there were no arrests.

"More than 300 reportedly well-behaved university men roamed the campus shouting and storming women's living units.

And there was a point to all of this malarkey, but others would call it an excuse. In the Wildcat's editorial, our old staff points out that, Îunfortunately, spring riots this year are particularly pointless, since the administration has approved a lengthened spring vacation for next year ÷ the traditional cause of the yearly insurrection.

"But as these last few nights have shown, the men of the university apparently do not need an issue to demonstrate against in order to have a Îpanty raid.' When one student was asked why he was running · with the crowd, he replied: ÎIt was hot today.'"
