An employee found 100 empty cartridges and 11 live rounds of ammunition in one of the recycling dumpsters at the UA Recycling Center, 1609 E. Seventh St., on July 12 around 7:20 a.m., reports stated.
The items were in a Taco Bell bag with Christmas tinsel and a UA business card with a name, phone number and "Jamaican" written on the back.
The empty cartridges were a mix of 30-06, .357 and 30-30 caliber and the live ammunition were .9 mm, reports stated.
Police called the phone number on the back and the woman told police that the only contact she had with the employee on the business card was at a Target store when the employee approached her and asked her where she got her hair braided Jamaican style, reports stated.
Police tried to contact the employee and left a message.
It appeared that the person that dumped the cartridges might have thrown away the live rounds by mistake after target shooting.
The recycling bin could not be traced to a specific location.
No armorer was available to dispose of the ammunition so police placed the items into property until they could be dealt with properly, reports stated.
Police found no evidence that a crime had been committed.
A man exposed himself to a family eating at McDonald's, 1711 E. Speedway Blvd., just before 10 p.m. on July 11, reports stated.
A witness that called police said that the man and a family with a six-year-old child were eating when the man "flipped out" and started yelling at the family, reports stated.
The man then stood up and started taking off his clothes and "playing" with his penis in front of them, reports stated.
The family and the man left at the same time and the father confronted the man before he ran away and crossed Speedway Boulevard, reports stated.
The man pulled his shorts up as he ran away.
Police found the man's black t-shirt and sandals.
The witness told police that he would recognize the man if he saw him again and wished to press charges if he was found.
UAPD circulated the area but did not find the man. His clothes were placed into property.
The driver's side window of a student's car was shattered while it was parked in front of the Chi Omega sorority house, 1420 E. First St., on July 10 , reports stated.
The student parked her car at 1 p.m. and when she returned two hours later the window was shattered but still intact, reports stated.
She said there was a worker cutting the grass next to her car when she parked and when she found the damage she asked the worker about it, reports stated.
The man looked at the window and walked away without saying anything while the student called police, reports stated.
Police tried to contact Chi Omega and UA Facilities Management but did not receive a response.
No further action was taken.
A man in a blue sports car was arrested for criminal speeding, failure to stop for a police officer and false reporting to an officer at 7:04 a.m. July 8 at East Eighth Street and North Sawtelle Avenue, reports stated.
Police were driving westbound on Sixth Street when they saw the man driving 60 mph eastbound, reports stated.
The officer driving did a U-turn and drove 55 mph to catch up with the man and blasted his horn to get the man's attention but the man quickly turned onto Tucson Boulevard and then into a neighborhood before he finally pulled over.
Another officer asked the man where he was going and he said, "to work," reports stated.
When asked where he worked he said, "AOL," then said, "I'm actually going to a friend's house," reports stated.
The man said his friend lived down the street but he could not give police an address, reports stated.
The officer asked the man if he had turned into the neighborhood to get away from them and he said, "Well I saw you guys and I didn't know you were coming after me," reports stated.
The officer asked the man if he had a friend in the neighborhood and he said no. He was asked again if he had been trying to get away from police and he said, "Well, yeah kind of, yeah I'm late for work and I didn't think you were stopping me," reports stated.
The officer asked the man if he had turned into the neighborhood to avoid being pulled over and had lied about the friend to get away with it and he said, "Yeah, I did, I just thought - " and he shook his head, reports stated.
The man was arrested, handcuffed and transported to Pima County Jail.
